1. About GoodCases
GoodCases is a radiology case-management application designed to help users organize, save, and review imaging cases for learning and professional reference.
2. Information We Handle
Depending on how you use the application, GoodCases may handle:
- Google account information used for sign-in, such as your account identifier and email address.
- Case information, including titles, diagnoses, notes, folders, dates, and scan-centre details.
- Images that you choose to save in the application.
- Information required to synchronize cases between your devices and recover encrypted case metadata.
Case details and images may contain sensitive health information or information that identifies a patient. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary authorization to store or process such information and that your use complies with applicable laws and professional obligations.
3. Google Sign-In
GoodCases uses Google Sign-In to authenticate users and associate application data with the appropriate account.
4. Cloud Storage and Synchronization
When you use cloud synchronization, GoodCases stores case metadata in Google Firebase Cloud Firestore and case images in Firebase Cloud Storage under account-specific paths.
GoodCases also requests limited Google Drive app-specific data access to store or retrieve a file used for encryption-key recovery. This access is intended for application-specific data and is not intended to provide general access to your Google Drive files.
Cloud synchronization depends on the application's available features and your use of them.
5. Security and Encryption
GoodCases encrypts case metadata before uploading it to Firestore. Encryption-key material is stored locally using secure storage, and a recovery copy may be maintained in the application's app-specific Google Drive storage.
Case images are not protected by the same app-level metadata-encryption mechanism. Google and Firebase services may apply their own security protections, but no electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
You should avoid storing identifiable patient information unless you have the necessary authorization and appropriate safeguards.
6. How Information Is Used
Information is used to:
- Authenticate users.
- Organize, display, and manage saved cases.
- Synchronize case information between devices when synchronization is used.
- Support recovery of encrypted case metadata.
- Enable sharing or exporting when you choose to use those features.
The current test version does not use Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, advertising SDKs, or third-party analytics SDKs.
7. Third-Party Services and Sharing
GoodCases relies on Google Sign-In and Firebase services for authentication, cloud storage, and synchronization. These services process information as needed to provide their functionality and are subject to their own terms and privacy practices.
If you choose to share or export case information, review the information before sending it to another person or service. Information shared outside GoodCases may be subject to the recipient's privacy practices.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
Case information may be stored on your device and in cloud storage. Deleting a case locally may not delete every cloud copy or copy stored on another device. Signing out does not necessarily delete local or cloud data.
If you want information removed from all locations, you should verify its deletion separately from each location where it may be stored. Do not assume that deleting a case locally or signing out removes all copies.
9. Children's Privacy
GoodCases is intended as a case-management tool for professional and educational use and is not specifically designed for children.
10. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated as GoodCases develops. The last-updated date will be revised when material changes are made.
